Hello friends, it's been a while since I last left any post. I know... I know... I am utterly horrible with managing this blog ever since I started school. Anyway, enough of me and my whines. Today, I'll like to share with you a music video that a lovely reader of mine had submitted to me recently. She is ILUKA (Nikki Thorburn). Her sweet words warmed my heart, and yes, that made me clicked on her "music video" but definitely not the reason why I decided to share this with you. You will understand upon listening to her music video.

Cookie Bowls

ingredients:

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

1 egg

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon No Color Almond Extract

Makes:

12 bowls.

Tools:

Ice Cream Cookie Bowl Pan

Instructions:

step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray the outside of each bowl cavity of Ice Cream Cookie Bowl Pan with vegetable pan spray.

step 2

In medium bowl, combine flour and salt. In large bowl, beat butter and sugar with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and extracts. Add flour mixture to butter mixture, 1 cup at a time, mixing after each addition.

step 3

Roll out dough on generously-floured surface to 1/8 in. thickness. Cut 4-1/2 in. circles from dough.. Drape one circle over each bowl cavity of pan, pressing to form smooth surface.

step 4

Bake 11-13 minutes or until cookie cups are firm and golden brown. Cool on pan on cooling rack 10 minutes. Loosen bottom edges of cookies from pan using small spatula. Carefully remove cups from pan and cool completely. Wash, dry and spray pan; repeat with remaining dough.

I need to be on a diet yet I craving for another round of Creme de la Crepe's 'Cheeky monkey'. Isn't this always so? Last month, a couple of my friends introduce me to the branch at Convent Garden and when I first saw the place, I felt like a kid, walking into an aromatic treasure cove. just like Charlie stumbling upon the chocolate factory. It already smells yummy even before I entered! I ordered 'Cheeky Monkey' which was Nutella with bananas. It's really good; rich, thick and warm but since the staff wasn't very pleasant, I shall let you know before you proceed.

We're living in modern times. We have robots working for us in the factories, our technology is world famous and yet we end up pouring buckets of water from a helicopter on a nuclear plant and using fire hoses on it,' said one office worker frantically trying to find a cab. - DailyMail

Exactly! Why does a country so advance in its technology resort to just pouring water? The plant have operated for at least 40 years, this is nuclear, why do they seem so ill prepared for a situation like this and let their employees (humans!) battle and be radiated?

Hordes of people are fleeing Japan and several countries are rescuing their citizens out of Japan with free rescue flights, with priorities given to their own citizens. What about the rest? What is going to happen to those that can't afford? What is going to happen to those pitiful elderly and the children that are made orphans and homeless by the Tsunami and earthquake? They are nearest to the plant! Are they gonna be left to die? Why can't countries open up their doors to these people for these period. Why aren't airlines working together to offer free rescue flights to anyone in the north east of Japan. This is a crisis!!

First a 8.9 Earthquake, then came a Tsunami and now a Nuclear threat. These people in Japan have lost their loved ones, made homeless and now facing an invisible radiation threat. They are out of running water, food and power. Emergency rescue teams are running out of fuels and temperatures are freezing cold. Fukushima's workers are risking their lives to battle the nuclear meltdown despite the high levels of radiation. It's heartbreaking. These people have suffered loads within days. Hopefully, the situation will turn for the better soon.

Secret Garden

Hello lovelies, do you watch Korean dramas or dramas in general? I will say I am pretty much certified a Korean drama addict and Secret Garden is my recent obsession, and an addition to the list of dramas I have watched thus far. Secret Garden is a romantic melodrama with a bit of fantasy and comedy added to it - yes. there's funny moments though it's a melodrama, that's one of the charms of Kdramas. I shall not spoil or elaborate further since the videos has spoken much louder.

Anyway, whenever a drama comes to an end, just like finishing a book, a feeling of emptiness will rush right in and I am always in search for the next noteworthy. (Do you feel the same?) But before that, I will search for clips like the ones above and below to reduce my "withdrawal" symptoms instead of going back to episode one.

However, ones with quality and great editing are pretty hard to find. I had to click through plenty to find these ones. Then a thought ran across my mind, I shall share these clips with you on this blog!

Firstly, to recommend dramas I'm either watching or seen. Secondly, because when I saw "355,364" hits, I felt it is little compared to some crappy videos that has millions of views. I mean, the editing is great and these people actually took their time and effort to do this, shouldn't there be more views?

Backstage at LFW S/S11

Maxfactor with Twenty8Twelve at LFW S/S 2011.

I love how Pat McGrath talks and the words used about Max Factor's products. Doesn't she sound convincing? Especially on the Xperience Volume Mascara, she said "amazing lift...fantastic volume...very light weight...i am wearing it myself...full flutter...am a big big fan...and you get volume...it's so divine". So I went back to "1.21" and indeed the lashes on the model does look beautifully natural but I don't see volume, maybe she could do with more layering. On the foundation being "superbly light"- not tried but looking at "1:16", the foundation on the model's skin looks thick and heavy slimy (ew!). On the other hand, on it giving a "flawless coverage" - yes, see "1.09". Maybe they should edit "1:16" out so I can be convinced? Nevertheless, I love the idea of a "strong lip" against a "natural polished" skin. It's doll-like.

Points to note to achieve Twenty8twelve's look:

"strong lip" - lip liner is very important!
"healthy glowing" skin

Learn Korean

I think learning anything completely new can be difficult and even more so if the lessons, teachers and/or the materials are boring, dull and not interactive. If a speaker speaks in a monotonous voice, isn’t it hard to keep yours eyes open and concentrate? For me, it’s just a matter of time that you will see my head nodding. Not in agreement but in slumber.

So I have a short attention span, I daydream loads, distracts easily, more of a visual learner than a listener. I need lessons to be interesting and I prefer to learn it on my own instead of going to classes and most importantly, I like fast results. Gosh, what a difficult person this is! I know.

Passion drives me and boredom kills me. Driven, I searched high and low and finally came across a couple of interesting sources and videos that's engaging and helpful. So far, so good, consonants and vowels – memorized, so now I am able to read and pronounce...at the speed of a snail, I need more practice, but considering it only took me a couple of days to memorize. Not bad at all.

So if you’re interested, you might want to check out some of the learning sources listed below:

1. Talk To Me in Korean – (podcasts, pdfs, videos) - I absolutely adore and enjoy. Their podcast are humorous, short and sweet, informative and straight to the point. Videos and pdfs acts as helpful visual aids. ***** (5 stars)

2. Sweetandtasty's "Professor Oh's" youtube lessons - (video) - funny and creative, the downside, there's only 3 lessons.

3. Say Jack - (interactive) - write, pronounce and learn to type in korean!

4. Seemile and Vank - (videos) - feels like high school, there's a teacher + a blackboard + chalk sounds, go for this if you prefer a classroom style teaching. (Both Seemile and Vank have podcast that you can subscribe to.)

5. Korean Flash Cards - flash cards! improve vocabulary.

"eeks, the korean post not out yet and there's no updates recently!" I know, I know and I feel really bad for the broken promise. There was an unexpected sudden rush of orders for the i heart rainy days earrings in response to ETSY's recent article and I had and still am working my butt off trying to complete them as fast as I possibly could so you don't have to wait too long. (Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, but am feeling bad that I've to disappoint one or the other. It's times like this I wish I could either pause time or have more than 24 hours in a day and not feel sleepy.)

Pictures, pictures! 하하/Haha Taken them to show you I really wasn't skiving and praying you'll understand! And also to update and get you involved on Fleur Avenue's latest packaging! What do you think of the stamps? Do you like this black ribbon or the previous one (picture below)? I think black gives it a more timeless and classy feel, while the other gives me a more romantic and french-esque feel. What feeling does it gives you? Penny for your thoughts?

Morning lovelies! Do you know of the benefits of Green tea? Ok, maybe you already heard stuff like "detoxify", "cleanse", and helps dark eye circles. Well, that is what sales and friends have been telling me and there are probably "millions"...
of products (eye creams, lotions, fragrance) out in the market to cash on it.

Since I was healthy and had fairly good skin then, I wasn't exactly that bothered to read up on the benefits. By that I mean I didn't even type "Green Tea" into goggle. But, ever since my granny was diagnosed with 4th stage cancer last year which she thankfully recovered from, (Which is a miracle, that I'll elaborate more in another post if you request) but yes, from then I have become more conscious of living and staying healthy.

Health is one that money cannot buy and it requires tender loving care to maintain. Besides safety, I feel health should be on our top priorities because without it, nothing else matters.

However, being alone here, having to juggle countless things such as a failed relationship, work, studies, friends and the "never seem to end" household chores, a unhealthy lifestyle of poor diet, late nights and lack of exercise developed. As a result, I am constantly breaking out and tired. Now, when I look into the mirror, all I see is pimples, whitehead, blackhead, ache! It's really depressing.

So before I rush into the stores to save my face, shouldn't I first educate myself by doing some research? Because when it comes to talking about these products, how much do we know about each? How much extract actually goes into one? Do you or I know or actually believe the labels on the bottle? Lastly, how long do we have to use it so results can be seen?

I would say I am very skeptical when it comes to beauty products because it takes more than words to bring me to the cashier. So although there're some very persuasive and eloquent beauty advisors around, whom all amazingly seem to have clear skin, who will use that as a pretext to sell their product, I never once believe them. This is because I worked in a cosmetic line before and I was employed with the basic requirement of having clear skin, so hey, it’s not because I used their products!

Brochures with visible results on the models, I personally feel all of them are airbrushed with perfect skin. So more than 90% of the time, I walk away. So far, samples work best on me. I see results, I return.

Anyway, back to green tea, since I have started panicking, I found out it...

“Green tea is made from unfermented leaves and reportedly contains the highest concentration of powerful antioxidants called polyphenols.”
It’s a more effective antioxidant than black tea. “free radicals contribute to the aging process as well as the development of a number of health problems, including cancer and heart disease” Therefore, antioxidants helps “neutralize free radicals and may reduce or even help prevent some of the damage they cause.”
acts as a “astringent (to control bleeding and help heal wounds)” so it will heals wounds cause by breakouts!
“promoting digestion”
“boost metabolism and help burn fat”
“lowers total cholesterol and raises HDL ("good") cholesterol”
“both green and black teas help protect against cancer”
“benefit arthritis by reducing inflammation and slowing cartilage breakdown”
"treat everything from headaches to depression",
reduced the risk of cancer, inhibits the growth of cancer cells,
prevents abnormal formation of blood clots, helps prevent heart attack.

“Green tea also seems to protect the liver from the damaging effects of toxic substances such as alcohol”
If you’re diabetic, green tea “control blood sugar…help regulate glucose in the body”

So, with all these benefits, I decided to give it a go by drinking at least 2 to 3 cups daily. It’s been 2 weeks now and I made a mask with it too and I do feel cleaner, healthier and the breakouts are slowing down. I will continue to see if my skin clears up. If my skin really clears up, I will share the mask formula and put up pictures of my scary pimples. I don’t want to give any of you false hopes if it doesn’t clear up for real.

Anyway, green tea to me is not very tasty when drink plain, so most times, I add honey for sweetness. Do not use sugar if you looking to lose weight. If you prefer a refreshing drink, add a slice of lemon and ice on top of it. Let’s cheers to health!

Important! As green tea contains caffeine, it will result in insomnia if you drink it say before bedtime! Since, it's not advisable to drink water 30 minutes before bedtime because that will result in puffy eyes due to water retention. This footnote serves as a caution!

Hey, how and what are your Christmas markets like? I went to the Cologne Christmas Market at Southbank centre 2 weeks ago. Since, it's the first Christmas market I was going to, I was really looking forward to it.

With less than 30 stores (it seems.), the Christmas crowd and the festive cheer, this market lacks luster. It's still interesting, just not exactly exciting. Worse, there wasn't any Christmasy songs and the store owners all look disorientated and unhappy! I'm not pleased. How can there be no music and no smiles?!

However, Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park, it's truly amazing. I felt like I was a child again. Love it so much, I'm going back there next week. I will put pictures up when I am up. Now it's bedtime. Stay tune! :)

why does some people think and complicated matters with their assumptions when things are actually really simple? I care about you so I shower you with my concern. It is that simple.

Anyway, why I am upset? Well, it's because of this one customer. My friends told me: "it's just one customer!" and I shouldn't be affected. But I am. I think I mentioned this many times, I care about my customers as I care about my friends and my family. Why? Because they are important to me. It's not because it helps me earn some extra cash. (I do not make much out of this.) What I gain is the satisfaction and happiness I receive when my customer comes to me and say "I really like your work. Did you made this yourself? They are really pretty! Keep it up!"

I admit for the past few months, I have been pretty slow in my response and I could only mail orders out recently in late october/nov, but did I not stated it very clearly about the time frame and implore people on my shop announcement to not shop with me if time is their main priority?

I am not seeking pity, or giving any excuses. What I ask for is an understanding.
You could ask, why did I not chose to put my shop on vacation or close it? It is because I didn't want my shop to looked like it closed down or disappeared.

I have just moved to a foreign land alone. Besides needing to adapt to a new country and culture, making friends, to mail order(s), I need to figure out the new mailing system. How much is a packet? How much is a stamp? How do I mail?...etc. I also need to juggle projects, meetings, and keeping in contact with my family back home.

I do not run on batteries (although i wish i do, so I do not offend any of my customers.) But, I am human, I do feel tired and I am definitely not perfect. All this, needs time...

Now, I just need to figure out a new packaging, buy a fragile stamp and I am set to mail out daily!

Ok back to the customer, she seems on the edge inquiring about her purchase. I kept up my response to her even after she sounded really rude and was attacking me. I responded to her all the time and she tells me I am ignoring her. She then makes up many weird assumption about me, about the shop, telling me how I should run Fleur Avenue and honestly, she sounds pretty disturbing and unstable.) So me, being silly me (maybe I should have just kept my concerns to myself.) I told her I wasn't ignoring her (how can I be ignoring her when I am always replying to her?) and I will take her feedback and strive to improve.

I went on to tell her I am here if she needs someone to talk to but she should at the same time seek professional help. As I am not a professional, I don't want to give her the wrong advice and do her more harm than good.

She ended up accusing me of attacking her and left me a really long negative statement. :(

Honestly, I am upset. Is nobody nice anymore, so people think the worse of people?

Hello friends, how's your week going? This week has been really hectic with my never-seem-to-end project meetings, completing store orders that has been delayed due to my move and getting the store back in order. If the status in your invoice states "shipped", it's mailed. Please check!

The emails you send me, I am trying my absolute best to retrieve information and respond as fast as I could but with my project datelines nearing, it's really difficult so I sincerely seek your patience. I will reply.

As you can tell, I am also trying to be a superwoman by juggling with this blog hence a post here and there, every other day. So, you may wonder; "why does she bother juggling this, when she said she's that busy. Moreover, she has that email she has yet to reply to me!"

Well, because everyone, you and me, needs a little break here and there or we'll go bonkers. And honestly, we don't want to be in that situation whereby we have to sit down in front of a shrink and bawl our eyes out right?

So, yes I still blog because this place is my creative outlet! A place for me to let off steam, zen out and find "peace" with myself, to manage the anger, the frustration I have inside sometimes. To daydream for a little while, brush harsh cold reality aside, and share the "aww", the interesting and the pretty little things I stumble upon across with you and to keep them here as a visual bookmark.

To the cheeky ones who might rebut "wow, she has so much life. she rather blogs than go do something else" Well, I do have a life. Just like any other ordinary girl in her twenties, I go for dinner, shopping, dance, movies, bake and spend time with friends and my family. It's just that now, my family is half way across the globe so I am really thankful there's skype.

Since, taking photos is also a great way to relax (for me), I re-took some pictures for Fleur Avenue's phoenix feather. a whimsical golden hair comb to make it look more magical and fairytale. Let me know your say!

Here's my 5 minutes very simple recipe:
Take any crunchy fruity oats cereal of your choice.
stir 3 tsp runny honey into fat-free vanilla yogurt
(estimated 1 part cereal to 1 part yogurt
and top with tangerines or clementine or any fruit of your choice!

Hello friends, I know I have not been keeping up with the blog for weeks and I do apologize for disappointing you time and again with promises of regular postings and my travel pictures.

With the continuous bad luck that's plaguing my family this year. I seriously wish for more time, for more than 24 hours in a day and the ability to not sleep. I am struggling to keep things and my sanity together.

As you know, about 2 months ago, my paternal grandmother passed away due to a viral infection to her lung and that was a dark period. Following that, just a few weeks ago, my maternal granny that I love very very much was hospitalized and diagnosed with colon cancer and according to the doctor, she might only have half a year to live...

I felt like someone stuck a jagged knife into my heart and spin the blade. Why her? Of so many illness, why does it has to be cancer? I wish this is all a dream and I will eventually wake up from this nightmare. The thought of her having to suffer the pain of cancer and leaving us, especially so soon is so difficult to digest and sleep was minimal.

"You only know the pain when it is your flesh that's bitten."

last week, she had to go through a major risk operation to remove the cancerous growth that was causing her pain. She was a good girl and drank the fluid that the doctor needed her to drink before the op even thought that made her feel like shit. I am counting my blessing that she made it through the operation and now resting at home.

Tomorrow, her report will be out and the doctor will update my aunt on the spread of the cancer. I am not sure if I want to know the result. If the cancer has spread and she only has months to live, we are thinking of keeping the truth from her for fear of alarming her and upsetting her. Is this right of us?

I am seriously praying for the cancer to be contained in that growth that was removed and she could live till a ripe old age because I seriously doubt my ability to handle her dismissal...

It know it's 2pm and it's not exactly morning but I have just woken up, so good morning everybody! I had stayed up till 8am so I could list some new designs that I had around weeks ago but didn't have time to list due to all that was happening. I have 116 items now, still short of 84 and I have 3 days! Fighting!

Anyway, this "morning", a reader, Molpaka, drop me a note telling me she wish I have time to watch "TAEYANG (SOL of BIGBANG) - I need a girl (featuring G-DRAGON) [HD]". So I went to watch it. Honestly, I was tempted to exit and do my work when I was 2 minute into the video and Taeyang was still doing his solo, top naked. But at 2.20 minutes, I changed my mind. Want to know why? Hello my lovelies, I am back! I have read the comments you left for the guest posts and I am glad you enjoyed their posts and I am sure my blog friends are really happy you did too. Although, the trip didn't turn out as great as what I had expected due to the irresponsibility of the agency, their poor planning and the unnecessary shifting from one mountain resort to another which wasted hours sitting inside a bus, making us feel like mountain turtles. It has strength my relationship with my cousins and made our last two days in Seoul even more irresistible. We miss Seoul! 보고 싶어요!

I shopped for 10 bags, 5 pairs of shoes, clothes in less than an hour. It was really crazy. I had also bought some that I will put up for purchase once I have their pictures taken! :)

Since, I have fish loads to do :
- mail all purchases - checked
- reply all the emails I had received since I left - checked
- achieve my 200+ items in store goal by July 15th
- take pictures of my purchase.
- plan my south Thailand trip... etc

I think I will be a little slow with the blog. Nevertheless, I will still be posting the pictures I had taken during my Seoul trip, the fashion I so love, more Korean pop music videos and my new creations. Meanwhile, feel free to contact me and drop me your submission!

First up is "Y" a music video of MBLAQ 엠블랙 's recently released single. MBLAQ is a South Korean boy band created by Korean R&B singer Rain under his label J.Tune Entertainment. My cousin, Melvin, introduced me to them and I had been addicted since.

In this video, Lee Changsun (이창선) looks absolutely sizzling hot with his rock hard abs! So ladies, please cover your mouths, get ready a tissue so you don't drool all over your desk! :P
